Your third day of driving takes you to the south-east of Sicily, which is guaranteed to impress you with its fascinating Late Baroque towns. After breakfast at the hotel, you start the engine and hum towards Geracello, enjoying fascinating vistas of the island’s hinterland on the way. At lunchtime, you can sample traditional delicacies in a classic agriturismo operation.
Did you know…? The 8 Baroque towns of the Val di Noto were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2002, as they mark “the culmination and final flowering of Baroque art in Europe.” Completely destroyed by a massive earthquake in 1693, they were subsequently rebuilt in a unified Late Baroque style.
